Ah the Fall temps!

So the temperature has been slowly droppin an so has the bite. Floated Lake Perris friday night an a cold saturday mornin. Have to say afternoon bite was better. Got on the water bout 330pm an hooked into first fish in less than ten min. From then on the bite was steady got 5 bass an 2 bluegill. largest bass was 17 inc an a strong 1.5 lbs. Carolina rigin a greenie weenie or purple fx roboworm has worked best. As the mornin went, hit the water bout 6 ish landed one right off the bat an hooked into a hog but spit the hook. Then nothin till bout noon, finished day with 2 bass an 2 bluegill off water by 1. This jus means diff tactics for those early fall transitional bass. 2nd week of October the shad should be movin with bluegill to shallower water to fatin up for winter with those big bass right behind em. So faster retreev an bigger baits should be the ticket.

Very informative, thinking about floating there this Saturday. Is the water still warm enough to tube in trunks or do I need to break out the waders?

O yeah c u there trunks r fine still ill b usein mine dont got no waders. Ill b there all this weekend an next floatin if any body wants to join I like company.

i can only take the cold water for about 2 hours i got to have something on lol

I am with ed I love the water but not soaking in it. I don't know how you guys do it more power to you.

Water temps have been high 70's in the morning and low 80's in the afternoon, but I haven't been out there in a couple of weeks. I have breathables and neoprene but love tubing in trunks only. Not much more time and it will be waders. I should know tomorrow if I will be out Saturday. I will probably be at Bernasconi Beach. I will be in the blue outcast fish cat with the PVC rod holders.

Kelster you just discribed half the ppl with tubes out there haha ill be in a yellow white river with 2 rode holders and tubinferbass will be in a green cadies with 1 rod holder the water is only cold once you get in after that its fine and then when the sun comes out your glad that your not in waders me and tubinferbass will be at bernasconi beach 6 in the mornin

I always have a super duper and/or a white crappie jig slow trolling and have caught most of my fish on one or the either. That day the BG bite was not so spectacular and I started to throw a DS Roboworm and was catching LMB, but that seven pounder was caught on the crappie jig with 2# test. The drag was screaming and I had to chase her to deep water but finally landed her after 15-20 minutes. Hope it doesn't rain too much this Saturday.

Cool, thanks for taking that pic and letting me fish with you two. Safety in numbers when the see doos and knuckleheads were getting pretty close to us. You two were killing them that day. That was the last time out there and I am planning to go tomorrow. Hope to see you guys out there soon.
