Curious what so 'hybrid' about the bladderless float tube?

Thanks.

You know I don't know it's just want they were refered to when I first started looking into them and then used them.

Does it have a floor section of drop-stitch construction?

The definition of Hybrid - a thing made by combining two different elements; a mixture.

This might better apply to tube that have oars attached. Or the drop-stitch style tubes as well. The term was coined I believe by 7bass and we used it back when we were selling there products.

This makes perfect sense if it has the capacity for oars built-in as it will then be a true hybrid - propulsion through fins and oars. This means that pure float tubes made of single-layer PVC are not actually hybrids if they don't have oars. This now makes sense. Thanks!

I think that is right still almost on every float you can add oars.
