Lake Perris fishing report 08/03

Caught 1x 1.5 pound bass today out by the fenceline by the dam on bernasconi side. Had a huge hit right at my tube earlier in the trees, almost took the rod out my hands but it caught me sleeping so no hook set. All in all fishing was interesting, felt good to be back on the tube again. I think I'm going to make more effort to hit it again on the tube. Also ran in to some kind of eagle with a white blue tinted head that was all black.

I don't have a usual spot but, Bernasconi is a great spot. There is always some fish there with all the elevation changes and structure.

I like to launch from Sail Cove or the East end of the lake because it is easier to roll my pontoon down to the water over that side of the lake.

I used to launch off sail cove but then i started only catching by the damn and i wanted to challenge my skills more by changing structure i fished. Id also go down sail cove towards the swimming beach but I'd only catch a fish here and there off that point but never consistently. What i want to fish is lot 12 and Alessandro island more. Ive only fish them once with you and fishing fatty. But lot 12 used to produce for me when i was stuck strictly to shore so id imagine id do better on tube but who knows that was when the water level was super low. That time i tubed it i caught a few dinks only there but man were the little buggers mean. Btw... is whooly bugger still around dude? He was the only dude at the time back then that fly fished off a tube at perris. Also im trying to get fishing fatty back on here too since he's moved to Idaho and im really interested to see what tubing is Like up north
