Question what knots do you use?

What knots do you use and why do you use them just wondering?

For my main line to leader I use a uni to uni.. for everything else I use the Palomar knot, I think it's the easiest to remember and very strong. If I'm feeling lazy and just want to throw something light out quick I'll use a clinch knot.

So I am asking because I have been using the Clinch knot since I was a kid. It is just simple and easy and has always worked well for me. But recently I hooked into a monster fish and once again the line snapped at the knot. I think its time to move to the Palomar knot.

Yeah I've noticed when I cast and have a backlash I break off alot and my lures go airborne on the clinch knot.. still happens with the Palomar but not as much

I used to tie-on the Double-Uni knot, now I use the RP knot for my braid to fluorocarbon leader and then the Improved Clinch knot at my hook with no more than 3-4 wraps.
I land BIG fish ….. when it happens.

Fresh line and fresh knots are always the key!

Ya fresh line is my other issue, sometime I just don't have time to redo it all but I need to make time more often now.

I use the San Diego Jam Knot for everything except drop shot fishing. And the Palomar knot is exclusive for my drop shot set ups.

For braid to mono or fluoro I like the Royal Polaris.

Trilene knot this Is my main knot for tying hooks or lures, rapala knot for jerkbaits or anything with a wide wobble or a lot of action as it allows for way more action and makes it so that jerkbaits dont lean to one side. or a palomar for heavy veg, dropshots, or big fish emcointers. Each for different uses as you can see

Palomar or San Diego Jam for terminal tackle
Alberto/RP for braid to fluoro
Triple surgeons for for mono to short fluoro
Double palomar for straight braid to lure

I need to check out the Triple Surgeon and the Double Palomar that is very much.

The double Palomar was an interesting knot I Tried a few times. I could not get it to lay right so I just went back to the single Palomar. I don’t use anything too complex and for all intents and purposes. A simple San Diego jam for hooks and an Albright does everything I need. But for larger quarry I attempt to remember how to tie a FG knot. But it’s a rare occurrence.
