6/14 Huntington Harbor Semi live report

Me Jerry and Mark are in the Water by 6:15. It's a little windy pretty overcast kind of cold water feels cold too. Let's see how it goes.

Okay 8:20 Jerry's gone home Mark and I are still in the water. Mark's got four I've got three and we're both fly fishing giving it a shot.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Just after 9:00 starting to sprinkle a little bit and the wind's kicking up just a little. Tide turned about 8:30 and it is dead now. But we got a few so that was worth it.

Ok I ended up with 4 the last 2 we're small ones not worth the post LOL. Ended up getting out at 10am. Sun just came out and wind was picking up.

Great morning session.  Ended up with 5.  Small sand bass to start the day then two chunky spotties and a little spottie later to round out the bass.  Highlight for me was a 14” yellow fin croaker on the fly rod.  Jeff and I saw some bait boiling and some either barracuda or needlefish pushing them up.  Pulled out the fly setup to see what happens and hooked a nice YFC.   What a blast on light fly gear.  Finished the day with an ice cold MtDew courtesy of Jeff from our friendly bet a couple weeks ago.

You too Jeff. Great morning. Nice white sea bass. Let’s do it again soon. I want to try Newport one of these days. And Mission Bay is on my list for sometime this summer.
