I finally got my Zonker out today. Two weeks of just cold and windy enough to be miserable. Today was nice. 50 degrees, low wind.
Went to a little local lake on the edge of town. Called Canyon Lake. It's convenent. The water isn't very deep.
Took me forever to set everything up. Partly that it's just me. Don't move good.
Not as crazy about it as I thought I'd be. I'm happy. It works good.
The oars. Can't take but 1/2 a stroke. I'm in the way. They work good. Used them as much or more than the flippers.
Flippers I have didn't seem to work that well. Maybe it's because of shallow water? Maybe the smaller "snorkeling" flippers would work better in this situation? I think sitting up high above the water has something to do with it?
The forward cross bar. Closer than I had hoped. A heck of a time getting flippered feet around it. Thought it might have worked out better for propping feet up.
The seat. Only straps to hold it are for the back. It works really good. Get good support. Don't see any reason to buy a solid plastic seat.
The tube worked good. No problems with leaks or anything. Spent about a hour and a half on the water is all. It did do me good physically. Going to leave. I felt the way one feels after a workout. I had enough. Just get outta here. Anything is a workout for me these days. I gotta work on my health and circulation.

Glad you got out and did a good test ride. You will get better at setting up in time. With more time on the water your will enjoy it I am sure of it.

Any day outside is a good day.
With time you'll get a bit more bendy.
I'm glad that lately I don't need to eat ibuprofen like tic tacs

I have the same turbo thrusters fins. I can't say if they are good/bad, they are all I know.
I believe you are on to something with the seat height.
I am sitting in water in my Togiak, water to my shins in my Creek Company Sport 'toon.
In the Sport, working the muscle at the back of upper leg more. The sport does have oars, so that helps with fatigue.
With the Togiak, its more even split between front/back muscle in upper leg. Its a workout and I believe slower as I am pushing more water out of the way.
