Had a little luck with the prince nymph fly. Caught lots of bluegills a few crappie and a channel cat. My friend, Vincent did well also.

Nice evening on the water. I have caught plenty of
Bluegill on the fly , but never a catfish. It had to be fun.

That's awesome. I miss fly fishing, it's probably been 40 years. I grew up in Colorado, and pretty much gave it up when I came to San Diego and started chasing big bass. I should get another rod and tie some flies.

You and your friend definitely landed a nice cornucopia of fish.
I didn’t realize that a catfish would come up from the bottom to eat a fly!!

The catfish in our small 55 acre lake will readily take crappie flies and nymphs. A fellow float tuber targets channels and flatheads with black woolly buggers at a large reservoir. He took me out last June and we got into some 24 inch to 32 inch channels. It was a great time.
