I've been fishing for Largemouth Bass in San Diego for most of my adult life. In that time I've thrown a jig countless times with very little success. All over YouTube guys swear by it, but it sure wasn't a confidence bait for me here in San Diego...until the last couple of months.
Evidently (for me at least) here in San Diego size matters A LOT! I stumbled across compact jigs, and paired then with tiny chunk trailers and voila' I started cleaning up. Including several over 5 lbs. Now I am completely hooked on jig fishing.
The pic below is a comparison of the more standard jig size I threw for years and the compact pairing that has been killing it at every SD lake I have fished recently. I trim the skirt so that it hangs just below the hook bend, then thread the trailer onto the short shanked jig.

And below are some screens shots from Tackle Warehouse of the jigs and trailers I've been using. I hope this helps some of you out. Dan
