BBL 02/09/2012 shoreline fishing

Since I've got some time on my hands and Corona Lake is slow and having some water issues I decided to go up to BBL and do some bait and wait and enjoy the weather. I caught two of them that were pretty fat and wanted to release but gut hooked.

Looks like they are getting ready to spawn soon.
Had this little guy getting into my stuff.

He has a chewed up left ear and what looks like a broken left hip but still scrambles around.

freeze those eggs and use em for bait

I love Big Bear, can't wait for it to warm up so I can tube it.

The row looks amazing never seen so much come from a trout before.

Thanks, yep both trout were full of eggs. Largest trout was 27.1 oz. I wish I could of released them so that that they could have spawned. The fishery at BBL is getting good with the hold overs spawning the last couple of years. I have never tubes there but found a spot close to the lake to launch.

Walmart has that borax stuff that ferments eggs n such only like a couple bucks. Makes em like the salmon eggs you buy!!!

Extremely calm day. Normally don't like to fish there because of wind.

Hey Guys,
Yeah if you can, let them dry uncovered in the fridge and then treat with borax, and store in a jar in the fridge. If you freeze the eggs they get really mushy and won't stay on the hook unless you bag 'em (netting). Pain in the Butt!
