Did I hear or read somewhere that someone attached a pair of oars to their Fishcat float tube? Seems like it would help get you around easier than kicking...

I do believe somebody mentioned it before. Sounds possible but kinda hard and awkward.

i spent a lot of time looking into it. i've seen pictures of it but i don't think it's worth the trouble. dave scadden has some boats that you can row and kick around.

if you're keen on adding oars, look into some hobie i-accessory holders. they glue onto pvc and allow you to bolt scotty mount accessories onto most pvc watercraft. might give you a solid base to work with.

Maybe this ( check under FLOATERS to the right)

The thing about Oars is you need a foot brace. You could attach a nylon strap like they do on these boats.

If you choose to go motor, these are pre fabed. The canopy is cool as heck. But, check the price tag for these babys....

On an easier note, a good friend of mine copied the idea of a motor mount and made his out of PVC and wood. It is basically like Dave Scaddens. It arches over the back of the tube.
So, he runs a 50 lb thrust Minn Kota, uses a #27 (large Deep Cycle) Battery in a soft sided lunch box and he weighs over 250 lbs himself.
Did I mention he uses a Fat Cat? He ended up adding two boat bumpers under the back area of the tube for more flotation.

Works for him and cost him the price of PVC, a few elbows, glue, screws, soft luch box and bumpers.
