Hi all!
I bought my first toob yesterday - a Togiak.
Got the rod holder put together today, now I just need some decent weather to get it on the lake!
I'm in SW Idaho, by the way. No sea Bass for me, I'll have to settle for the regular ol' large mouth bass, lol!

I'm new to the forum, apparently I'm not allowed to post pics until next week.

Thanks everybuddy!
I'm a little leary about taking my camera out on the water affraid Once I get used to the toob (and maybe make a camera mount), I'll get some water pics.

I've noticed most members I've seen so far are in Cali. Am I a rare breed, being from Idaho? bounce

My sister in-law used to live in mountain home which we visited once and know she lives in meridian.

Been to Mtn Home, eh? I'm sorry, LoL!
Naw, I keed! I keed.
My son lived in Meridian for a couple of years. I spent about ten years in Boise, but being a small town farm boy, I always felt like a fish out of water, lol!
Now I'm back in another podunk, backwater town, and I couldn't be happier! Smile

Very nice! Yeah I agree mountain home was a onetime visit, not much to do there but her husband at the time was in the air force.

So.... Took my toob out for my first float.
Lemme just say, "less is more" was ringing in my ear the while time!
I always drink lots of water. So, I took a little soft sided cooler full of waterbottles. I drank 1/2 of one bottle.
I also had the undeniable urge to pee after only a couple of hours, lol! So, it was a short day on teh water.
Fish weren't bitin' anyway. I was watching other people, on shore & in boats. I wasn't the only one with slack lines today.
I must say, I think I'm going to enjoy 'toobing! I need to change my live well though. I made one with the "mesh laundry bag / pool noodle" design. Well, I didn't really pay much attention to the solid nylon "bucket" part at the bottom of the mesh bag until I was out on the water, dragging around the impromptu sea anchor! Does anyone use a good old fashioned fish stringer??

My rod holder worked nicely, though! it needs a little tweaking, but over-all I was impressed with it, considering I'd built it before ever trying out my toob, lol! I'll get pics up in a couple of days, when the forum decides I'm not a spammer.

Here's a pic of my rod holder, v1.1
I'm modding it a bit. I decided I only need 2 rod holders at most. I also want to adjust the net holder, the net bangs around in the tube, and makes a lot of noise.
