Lately I've been using a fly box to store my hooks.

Hey Jeff did I ever show you what I use? I use a mini cd wallet. I have a bunch of them. Your hooks while in the pack slide right in and you can thumb through it pretty easily especially while on the tube. I leave my hooks in the plastic pouch so it works out well. They also have a clip so you don't loose it.

Didn't think of jighead. Float tubing gave me the fly box idea too. gotta maximize that storage space you have on a tube. I've also been using a gallon zip lock bag for all my plastics.

awesome deal. as you can see i paid 8 bucks for mine.

looking for one that is about the same size but a little deeper, and a small fly box for trout hooks. hit me up if you get any in.

When I tube I wear my fly vest. It has two drop down pockets with tack boards and I just stick my jigs there. Unzip, drop down, easy to see and organize. Also free up p
ocket space on the tube.

Hook wallet from mini cd case

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The mini-CD wallet is a nice idea...I tried it one time but I guess I didn't get one slim enough 'cause it was too big for what I had.

Essentially the CD wallet is just like a leader holder wallet Smile

I like the vest idea...unfortunately for me, I can't stand stuff around my chest area...even though I have a great vest, I never use it except for salmon fishing (I'm short and my fanny pack gets soaked).

I discovered thrift store eyeglass cases recently, after seeing an article about them.
I line them with recycled EPE foam AND/or magnet sheet and, Voila! Instant fly/hook box!
The metal ones are steel or aluminum, so I go for those when I find them. The aluminum ones are best because they dont rust.
These case are tough as, well... metal.
2 or 3 cases will hold all the hooks, lures, tackle, flies, or jigs you're likely to need and will stow readily almost anywhere.
And, did I mention they are low cost?
