I'm in the market for a new tube and would really like your input on the Cumberland. Seems like this tube is really popular here, but I'm not quite sold on it.

My main concern is the foam seat/back support. I weight less than 180 and was wondering if the foam will give out on me like the fish cat 4 did. I also wanted to know how bad the tube will be in the wind. Looks like you will be seated up pretty high.

If you guys have anything else to say about the Cumberland (pro/cons) or suggestion for other tubes I'm all ears. THANKS in advance!!

I simple feel it is one of the best float tubes out there and that is coming from a guy that has the ability to sell Creek Company Products. I know there are cons to it but I don't know what they are as of yet.

Cumberland you can't go wrong unless you want to spend more money then I would go with surper fat cat by outcast.

I don't own a Cumberland but I haven't heard anything bad. The only thing I would do is replace the form seat with a air bladder.
They have a 350lb rating, a lot of guys on the forum have them cause they are good tubes at a good price.

Gotta say that the Cumberland is one of the best tubes out there for the money. And if you order it through our partner (coverbonanza.com) you get a heck of a deal on it! Red Smile

Like Miller said, it has a rating of 350lb! What other tube out there has that? I'm 240 and it floats me and all my geat with no problem. Sits you nice and high off the water and keeps you dry. Tracks very well and even in high winds it still tracks well.

The seat is comfortable for all day fishing, but just like any other tube when your fishing, your body will get tired of sitting in the same position after a few hours. The back storage space is great! toss a 5 gallon bucket back there and you have an instant trunk!

I'd recommend this tube to anyone in the market to buy one. My dos pesos!

And look at it...isn't she a sexy beast?

I too have the Cumberland and I am extremely pleased. These things are built to last! They are stable and have pretty big storage pockets. My favorite part is the air valve. The valve automatically lets air out of the bladder on a hot day when the bladders start to expand so they won't over inflate. Wiseguy found this out by accident. I was already satisfied with my tube but by knowing it had this feature it made it that much better!

I use to have a caddis which had me in the water waist deep. Now the water is right under my knee. The advantage of this is that you have less drag in the water and it makes you want to go to the bathroom less often.

Where are you located? Maybe you can hook up with someone to check theirs out and if they're nice enough, you can take it on a test drive...

Thanks for the feedback guys! This is a great community for sure! Jimmy and Alfredo, I believe I met you guys before. I fished with you guys on your birthday.

It's good to know that the value has that automatic mechanism. My last tube expanded and torn a seam.

Jimmy, what kind of a deal are you talking about? Very Happy

I just looked them up on coverbonanza.com and saw this one below. Is this the one that you are talking about? If so, that is actually the older model. That same picture was there when I ordered mine from coverbonanza and I received the model like the one that wiseguy posted which is the latest model (as far as I know).

At 180lb the seat will give you heaps of support, I weigh about 320lb and the only problem i have is that the back rest gets a bit soft in the sun. Cumberland, well made and worth the cash.

The best deal is still thru coverbonanza. And you get the newest model rounded at the front and a serial number at the rear.

It's going to be the new models, trust me. the old one I had I bought like 4 years ago and upgraded to the new and improved Cumberland which is also bigger than the first generation Cumberland. If you order from Coverbonanza, you will get the newest Cumberland available. you cant go wrong.
