Home-grown mods are always fun. I've purchased some of my add-ons over the years and made some in my garage. Usually they need some tweaking - which is part of the fun. When looking at your rod rack, you have nice separation on the butt end of your rods, but please report back on what happens on the other ends. Did the tips stay separated or did they get tangled when whipped by the wind and waves? I used to take 7' rods on my toon, but have since switched to shorter rods so that it was easier to untangle them and re-thread the line when stuff happens.

Good point never thought about rods getting tangled

What I did was I bought a berkley 3 rod rod holder off the shelf and strapped it to the side of my battery deck. It keeps my rods vertical. I dont have to worry about the tips whipping around in the wind, hitting obstacles that can break the rods and can carry any length rods.
It looks like you can do the same on the outside of that metal frame you have there.
