Trout fishin setups

What's up guys? I wanted to hit up corona lake or whatever paid lake for some trucha but I know close to nothing about what setups to use. I've bought power bait and used worms before but I don't really know what I'm doing out there =) I'll be tubing of course. Any tips?

2lb test and mini jigs

Dropshotting some power worms or mice tails

4lb test, , mice tails pink/white, carolina rig with split shot about 12 inches above hook, power bait on treble, i used the chunky cheese garlic scent one...this worked for me at irvine

Anyone know what size hooks I should be using?

I personally use size owner mosquito 6 & 8...also caught on size 12 I was suprised cuz itz pretty small....

For drop shot I use owner mosquito hooks in a size 10. When I use mice tails I use size 8. For powerboat I use a size 14 treble hook.

SLAYED the fish today! Caught 32 rock fish, 3 ling cod, 2 white fish, and 2 sheepshead. All on my new tube of course.

As for the Corona lake deal:

Livebait: Take with you garlic nightcrawlers, African nightcrawler, or the best is the full size Alabama jumpers (avg size of 7" long) on a 1/32oz jig head, Texas, or Carolina rig. Dropshot by suspending 24" above the bottom.

Plastics: dropshot, 24" off the bottom, using trout worms (watermelon-black flakes, hot pink-silver flakes, or red-black flakes). Guys are using some major fish attractants on these plastics when on shorelines. If you're float tube, attract helps, but the actions is from the amount of noise made to get the fishes attention, which then brings to you to..

Spinners: Rooster tails (red-black with gold leaf, orange-black with beetle marking leaf).

Swimbaits: Slow sink type. I bring my BBZ 3" with me. The larger trout will chase and hammer them. If you have rattling swimbaits, bring them as you troll. If you use a dropshot-swimbait just about 12" above the ground, you also attract the catfishes.

Didn't make it trout fishing this weekend. Had to make some beer battered rockfish and whitefish tacos! It looks like I'm gonna have to try next weekend. I'm gonna stock up on trout lures during the week.
