Lake Perris (1-23-14)

Got a Late Start to the day on the water pulled into lot 11 @ 8am and to my surprise there was not one car in the lot    , So I pulled the tube out blew it up quickly and threw the waders on and away I went .  It was obvious as soon as I hit the edge of the water that trout had been planted and they where hanging out right on the shoreline . I quickly got my limit and away I went on the Tube .  

To my surprise there where HUGE LMB chasing these trout all the way out of the water    .  Man I wish I had a Swimbait Rig , I am starting to get that itch , but the cost of getting everything set is Expensive !

Anyhow my day was cut short due to wind , but on a positive note the new force fins I had on worked amazing .

Water Condition :
- 59 degrees surface temp
- Wind 15mph +  gusting over 20 easy
- Visibilty was terrible !
- fished from 8am -11am

Final Damage Done  -  5 trout  and 2 LMB (no size really 13-14")

WTG, if the lake got stocked today then that means our city ponds got stocked too

Split shot , 4" plastic Green weenie in color  . Another month or so and I will be back on the Bernasconi side . I have a few spots over there that the big girls like to hang out on and they like small baits . See if I can beat my 11lb from last year

Miller : I did not see the stocking as I was out there on Thursday , But I am almost positive they where Dumped Wednesday Afternoon ..

It does seem that the Perris Bass like the small baits / light line  , although I seen one pulled out last week on a Swimbait around 10lb. If only I could come up on a swimbait Rig for the right price , I will jump all over it .. there just so darn expensive rod/reel and bait wise.

Anyhow I will be off this next week Thursday / Friday and we have a chance for a cold front to move in and I will for sure be on the water 1 if not both of those days ..  See you out there   ,  WES

Oh ok cool, yeah I haven't seen any signs of our local city ponds getting stock.
For a seimbait rod for cheap check out turners calicos rods, you can get one on sale for about $100. About 200-250 for a complete set up or go used. Not cheap but cheaper than I spent on my G-Loomis alone
