Maybe not steady rowing, but sure. But, it depends on the reason. I am sure I have rowed and kicked 5 miles easy on fishing outings.
Not sure if any here are familiar with Henry's Lake in Idaho, but we launched a friend in his pontoon with no motor at Cliffs and several hours later (fishing in the mean time and so was he) we picked him up at Staley's. I have no idea how far it was but well over 5 miles.
You have far less drag in a pontoon than a tube, and less drag in a Kayak than a toon, but you do have FIN power as well in a pontoon. I guess you could have this in a Kayak if you could sit side ways.

All I was trying to say for this post of Toon versus Tube is there is a whole new world of pontoons out there that weight, packing, and storage is not really the issue anymore.
Frames are nice but not really needed.
Tell me wouldn't try going farther and fishing longer with even the single man version. Boat weighs 23lbs and packs smaller than to at maybe 20" X 20" x 4". Note, motor on back and sonar.
