Victory and heartbreak in the LBC 5/20 afternoon session...

I managed to squeeze in a PM session on my way home from work yesterday to the LBC. I was very upsest with myself as I was pulling my 2 piece spinning clarus rod from the car, I snapped about 4" off of the tip:( I was not going to let that stop me. I set up my drop shot hawg seeker in the brand new Fools Bait, pink camo color and nailed this shorty. Lucky for me, my buddy who I was fishing with wraps and repairs rods, so he will fix it for me, it will just be 4" shorter which is ok as the rod was 8'6"

A few minutes later, I had a huge bendo on the rod and line was peeling off and the fish snapped my line which was 10lb. I have not had that happen in awhile. What ever it was, it wanted the pink camo hawg I had pinned on the hook.

And that's what keeps us fishing. The one that got away leaving us thinking "What in the world was that?" You need to go back for redemption. Redemption fishing is the best!

WTG to go on the flattie and shitty about your rod!!! i had that happen to me, lucky for me i bought it at longfin tackle in orange and he replaced it no problem....good luck on the fix!

Beat the skunk and that's all that matters. Sucks to hear about the rod. I've broken my reliable Loomis before, and the rod was never the same after that.

for rock fishing like that, I'd bump it up to 30-40lb braid if I were you. You found a good spot and are missing out on the big girls big time.
