So I got a gift card for bass pro shops for my b day and I need suggestions for a ultralight or light action spinning rod for crappie
Fishing from a tube the budget is $50 for rod only but I will tell you that bass pros selection kinda sucks
I was thinking about trying a 5-6 light action berkley cherrywood rod but it gets mixed reviews is the lightning rod a pretty good upgrade ??
I mostly fish jigs and an occasional live minnow on a slip bobber setup
Anyone have any suggestions other than ( if you can just add a little more to your budget you can get x rod ) ??

Thanks for any suggestions

All that I can tell you is that I know very little on what makes a good rod setup vs. a great setup. I also purchased the bass pro ultra light 5-6 and have had a blast with it. Using trout worms on a small jig with a small bobber its a killer match. Even a small trout or blue gill feels like a large fish on this light pole. When on the lake I go after bass with my big boy outfit and troll with my little bass pro ultra light. Like I said before, I know very little on what makes a combo rig a good vs. great but I like this combo very much! Let us know what you end up with and how it is working for you. By the way, where are you fishing and what area are you in?
