Wife is going to be carrying a second fly rod this year on her new Fishcat this year.
Carrying two 9 ft rods on tube can be challenging.
Tips of rods have to be low and over bow for casting clearance.
Tips of rods cannot be touching or below water as they will catch weeds when kicking and can pull rod over or snap tip. Seen both happen!
So IMO you really should have 2 points of attachment (reachable) to keep rods under control.
Love the Scotty fly rod mount but standard bracket would not fit Fishcat.

Took apart two of mine down to just mounting block.

Used 2 x 1/8 inch aluminum bar and made two brackets.

Bolted brackets to mounts and bent brackets.

Strapped on tube.

Had to use 1 inch webbing for strap that is why in bracket pic slots are narrow.
No much room to clear apron post.

Now the hard part, the second point of rod attachment.
Thought I could just zip tie a carabiner on each side of seat at the highest point of seat strap.
Did so and put two rods and it looked great sitting on my work table.
Grabbed the Wife and went to neighbors pool for test.
Test was a flop!!!
Fishcat does not ride in water the way it sits on my table.LOL
Tips were about two inches underwater.
I needed to get second point of attachment higher up and still be reachable to the Wife.
Alternative was to build some type bracket out of PVC behind seat and still be reachable.
Was not looking forward to building a bracket to hold 2 ounces of fly rod.
Wife came up with the solution!!!!!!
She can make anything out of fabric. She designed a seat back cover out of denim. It velcro attaches with a strap.
Wanted some extra stiffness on top so she made inner sleeve and we inserted a 20 x 1 inch piece of aluminum.
(seat back is 3 inches thick so one inch piece will not get in her way)
Added a strip of webbing on top with two loops on each end to slip carabiners in
Pool test was a success..
Here we go.
Had some latex tubing laying around so slid a piece on the carabiners to protect her rods.

In the pics it looks like the rods are angled up more than they need to be.
But in the water the Fishcat rides so that the rods are just about parallel to the water surface.
Still have about 12-14 inches of tips clearing water
Looks cramped but she will always have the right side clear when fishing.
I always have the same amount rod holders as I have rods. When launching or landing I always want all rods secured, not holding one in hand.
Till she actually fishes set up, who knows. Might need some tweaking.
In about two weeks I will post some pics with mods in action along with a fish report.
