I took out the new tube this morning on her Maiden Voyage.  With this being my very first time on the water in a float tube I wasn't really sure what to expect.   After launching from the boat launch I automatically realized I needed to adjust my seat.  It was leaning to far back for my liking, and needed to sit more upright..  So after a few adjustments I was ready to set sail....

After feeling all uncoordinated like a drunk leaving the bar at 2am, I finally got my barrings and was able to kick myself out towards the middle of the lake.  Going straight was no problem, I am still trying to figure out how to turn left/right without my fins getting tangled up with each other.

Due to the recent storms we have had up here, the water conditions where not ideal for catching anything.  (at least that's the excuse I'm using for getting skunked today)
I'm already looking forward to my next trip out.  This was a lot of fun and I'm hoping to recruit a few friends to join me in my new hobby.
Here are a couple pictures I took.

So glad it went well for your first time out bro. Thanks for sharing your maiden voyage, and I am sure you will be able to find quite a few more people to join you in time. Keep up the good work the rest will fall in to place (that being the apron on your lap) Twisted Evil

HAHAHA... Yes Jeff, I am already thinking of a mod for the apron. Somthing a bit more solid would be nice. Also, I was thinking of some type of anchoring system to keep me from being pushing around when I want to stay in one spot for a bit. Any ideas?

Nice job on the maiden voyage. I strongly recommend the mod that wiseguy posted. I also have it and it is SWEET! As far as anchoring, I have seem 3lbs mushroom anchors that would work great for float tubes. I wouldn't recommend one though. You learn to use your feet to stay in place.

Thanks for that link Wisguy, that looks like the perfect mod for a apron. A hard top that is lightweight.
Yes LOLLY, you are right.. I don't think I need a anchor yet. I just need more practice in the water and I should be fine from being pushed around. Thanks for the tips everyone!!
