IRVINE LAKE 2015 first session

Hope all is well....just a quick report...

So I had a free pass for irvine and the wife was working that meant it was Go!! Decidde to leave a little later hoping that by 650am there would b no more line and I would just cruise right in....negative!!! There was still about 30 cars lol and only one dude at the booth vs there regular 2.....finally got in and launched from the west shore..  started kicking to trout island for nothing....headed back towards the west shore when my powerbait setup goes bendo! Fish on! Puts up a good fight and finally net him...skunk off and the first of the year! Feeling good now...decide to do that same pattern again but to no avail...now hours r going by and nothing lol seemed it wasn't cold when I caught that first one but now im getting cold lol....no to mention how cold it was when I arrived...31 degrees...okay so kept paddling around and what seemed forever finally came....same rod..the powerbait setup! Bam fish on, net it and 're bait up....kicked around for a bit longer and it was getting colder, windy so bounced at 12pm with 2 and one missed hit... thanks for reading and sorry for any mistakes...

Indeed chris! Bite wasn't to hot but it wasn't slow peeps were picking them off....a dude I was talking to in a hobbie kayak had 3 when in had 2 then got slammed for his 4th one....his son was in a hobbie too and had 3....all on night crawlers need to go back again

Great report Tony , great job with the 2 trout . there a ton bigger then the DFW stockers I see I am hoping to get out on new waters soon , just waiting my turn in the vacation rotation from this holiday season ..

Do u believe in Almanac's. The wife got a calendar with fishing guide, showing how good the day is for fishing. 1/1 good, 1/2 and 3 fair,1/4 and 5 BEST and 1/6 and 7 fair. So far from what I've read from members its pretty right on.

That being said TonyG, 1/14 and 15 good. What do ya think...GT

might sound doable, thats the MLK tourney right....also might be out there this weekend again, wife just gave the green light, told her my goal is to limit out lol

I will be at Irvine on the 17th for the masters qualifiers as well Tony, lets meet up that day brah

I would love to join you all in a session sometime at Irvine , have always wanted to go out there . but I just hate trout , so I guess I would be looking for some of them big winter time kitties moving
