Fishing Castaic lake lagoon?

So I'm fishing the goon with a buddy it will be my first time there do you guys have any tips for a fellow float tube freak

Check the wind forecast. I failed to last time and barely got any fishing in from fighting the wind. Supposedly out from the spillway down to the swim beach on that side is one of the better places to fish. But you'll have to kick a ways to get there. Seems like most people prefer finesse fishing there so drop shots seem to do well. Try dragging a creature bait/jig on the bottom. I've heard guys get into them fishing jerk baits and rattle traps as well.

Hey Joer, how'd you do?  I haven't been able to tube anywhere since last summer and they're doing a derby there next week. I'm hoping I'll have some funds to go next week.  Thanks!

It was a slow day for me and my buddy I only pulled one green back and around 11:30 the wind kicked up and made it hard to get around but fishing by the inlet was best

Ok thanks for the intel. And least you caught something. I'm yet to get anything from a tube in 3 visits over a couple years.!
