I picked up a FishCat 4 Deluxe LCS with the recent Sports Chalet closing sales. I've always wanted one but finally took the dive with the sale prices. It took me a few weeks to put together the kit I needed to get started and kept it very simple. I only have a basic entry level PFD and decided to go with the CastMate rod racks and holders instead of building one out of PVC. I wanted to keep it sleek and have some versatility with my setup, plus my DIY skills tend to result in buying more tools.

I love this thing! Of course I have no frame of reference to compare it to since this is my first float tube. At no point in my 4 hours of my maiden voyage at Hume Lake did I feel the least bit unstable or unsafe. It took a little while to get used to turning and kicking in the direction I wanted to go, but I think that will come with more experience. I'm still using my light weight wader boots and basic Outcast step in fins, but all in all it worked out well. At some point I may want to explore new fin and wader boot options, but a good overall experience with the tube. I might add a rod holder attachment on the right side of the tube because I kept wanting to place one of my rods there and kept trying to find ways to tuck it in so I could troll a line on both sides of my tube while having my sonar unit tethered in the middle.
I was also able to properly baptize my new float tube on it's maiden voyage with my skunk buster of the day!

Anyone have tips on how to rotate an image? Thanks!
