Lake Perris 4/26

I have 2 days this week to get loose Today and tomorrow. OR more precisely, 2 mornings. The weather predicts WIND? So I decided to run to Perris early. I got to the lake just in time to notice I forgot my fins. Back home and grab them and now its not so early.

I started around 7:30 from the east end launch ramp.
Water temp was 68 degrees
Air temp was 55 to 71 
Water visibility is 3 feet

I found this guy about 9 AM hiding in the brushline

My one and only fish this morning.
The wind was building slowly and I was not wanting to fight it so I left at 10:30

FYI
They are building something on the east end. I don't know if it is going to be a RipRap or just a drop off once the lake is full again. If you like to fish Perris I would recommend keeping an eye on this over the next few months.

Actually there getting ready for the lay out of all the concrete caves very soon and Nice fish Jerdon BTW if you try and go over that way security will be on you in 2 seconds kicking you out so no shore fishing over there

Water temp is still below 70 so unless there is a lot of sun I wear waders.
Also if you are going to the East end, Lot 11 ramp puts you right in a brush line so something to protect your legs.

GT all depends on you , the other day i went out with board shorts and had no problem , but as Jerdon said if its a bit chilly then waders are fine ... if you do go in shorts make sure to get some repel out as the sand flies are a pain right now , especially in the ramp area and east end ... there have been fish off sail cove as well and that maybe better for you back

You know Kobra I did not think to check it out more carefully. I have been told by the Rangers and read from the lake biologist that there are no more spots in the lake. Extirpated is the term the biologist used.

That's too bad.

No pure bred Spotted Bass, but there are hybrid Spotted/Largemouth Bass in LP. Check to see if there are teeth on the tongue. If so, it's part Spotted Bass.. We've caught them recently.
