As I was walking down to the water at low tide, I hit a patch of slippery sand and my feet slipped out from under me and I sat down HARD. Pain instantly filled my world and visions of 911 danced in my head. I just lay there for a while and took some deep breaths and then got the tube off me and gingerly stood up and decided I was shook up but OK. None of my gear was damaged and my butt hurt a bit, but I could move around OK, so I decided to carry on.

I went on to have my best day ever. What they lacked in size, they made up for in numbers. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 fish, mostly small but a few decent spotties and one nice barred sand bass.

I've been trying different leaders and this day was 8 lb flurocarbon. I think it was a significant part of why I did better than before.

Coming out of the water, I stepped on a sharp shell and cut the bottom of my toe.

Now that the tailbone bruise has had some time to develop, I'm going to be sitting gingerly for a while and I won't be going out tomorrow as planned, but it could have been worse and I'll count my blessings.

Life is random. You never know what will happen next. Gotta love it.

A 30 fish day is always a fun day.
Over the years I have evolved with my foot wear. I used to wear my flip flops to waters edge and go barefoot in my fins on those nice summer days. Now I have a couple of sets of booties with rubber bottoms to make the walk down or back safer for my feet.

Anyways, thanks for sharing.
