So i have had a recent issue with a set of waders i own. They are neoprene foot and rubber inside and as you can imagine sweating is an issue. Well sometimes even though i always try to dry them completely they may nlt be completely dry.

This can lead to a very bad smell as there is bacteria that can grow because of the moisture left behind. So i have that issue and i know that there is an enzyme killer that you can get to get rid of the smell. But i decided i would try a home remedie first. That is Vinigar and hot water and a long soak. Not sure if it will work and at its worst i will need to get a new pair of waders, that was going to happen anyway. I am just trying and of it works I will be sure to share more info with you all.

This is what I have done in the past.

2: REMOVING SMELL FROM WADERS
To remove stubborn odors and bacteria from waders, fill a tub with warm water and add 2 capfuls of MiraZyme™️ Enzyme Based Gear Deodorizer. If you have a small pack with Mirazyme take this. There are also instructions on the package.
Stir mixture.Washing your waders : Guideline

Cool thank for the insite, I will look it all over later today.

Something else to add to the discussion some tools to add in drying your waders. I will be working on this next month for sure.

I don't know about getting the smell out so this is good information.

I always rinse out my neoprene waders inside and out before I hang them to dry. Also, with neoprene I always let it hang on a heavy duty hanger folded until it is dry,and then turn it inside out and completly dry the other side. This way both sides air dry before I put it away.

I decided to do to treatments or soaks of my wader and I am on number 2 so far. I dumped the water from the first soak. Dam there was a lot of sand and dirt from that first soak. kind of caught me off guard. Well now for round 2 and tomorrow I will start drying them I will let you all know how it goes.

So I soaked my waders for 2 days and have been drying them out. They are still damp but the funky smell is pretty much gone. I feel that what I did as far as soaking them like I did help remove the smell. I will do this at least after every other use at this point. Once I get the smell gone I am sure that one soak for less time will do the same as the 2 I had to do. I still plan on building the PVC drying rack at some point soon.

A trick a salty old timer taught me, stuff newspaper into the feet when drying. Sucks all the moisture up inside the feet. I never had issues with wader funk after that.

I've owned and used a Cabela's foot/wader dryer stand for the past eight years and it does a great job.
It blows very gentle; slightly warm, air up into the neoprene sock foot or boot foot of my waders causing a constant circulation the air thru out the inside of the waders foot and leg portions of the waders.

Made in the USA!

I noticed that with the PVC version you can add a hair dry to pump in warm air.

My Cabela's Feet Dryer.

As you can see, the air can reach all the way to the toes and circulate for a thorough drying.

Just install all the way in up inside the sock foot or boot foot; I have both, up to the toes and plug it in. So simple and it works.
