Float Tube Fishing - Saltwater Bass Trifecta!

Last time out I got rained on and barely escaped the skunk.

This time I had a personal best with 35 fish total and a Saltwater Bass Trifecta! 18 Spotted Bay Bass - 11 Barred Sand Bass - 3 Calico (Kelp) Bass - and one each of Halibut, Mackerel and Sting Ray (Mud Marlin).

I averaged a fish every seven minutes for five hours and let me tell you, that kind of action is just plain fun, no matter what size the fish are!

This is testimony to the old adage, "The way to be successful is just keep showing up!"

I'm the first to admit that the video gets pretty repetitious, but I wanted to document the day and I tried to add some relevant commentary from the water.

Launched out of Seabridge and was able to ride the tide to the bridge and back again, so even though I covered a little over two miles, I actually never had to kick hard.

It was a solid overcast the whole time, but the wind stayed pretty calm and I think the bite is better when the sky is overcast, so I considered it pretty much perfect weather.

A legal size halibut still eludes me, but I'm just going to keep plugging away until it happens! Very Happy

Happy fishing!

Congrat's on your trifecta Bob! Thumbs Up

Nice fish numbers!
35 fish landed in a single session makes for an absolutely FANTASTIC, FUN session indeed!

My very best session on the water was 45 fish with a fish being landed at approx every 5 minutes or less.
WHAT A DAY to say the least!
My hands were super cut up and sore for days but I had the best time on the water catching as well.

I totally agree with you Bob, that the more time you spend on the water ... that it will definitely increase your odds
in landing that long awaited and long over due legal Hali! It's definitely in your near future Sir! Don't give up!

Thanx for the fish report w/ video! Thumbs Up

Thanks, Dan!

I forgot to add the almost miraculous detail that I used the same Hookup Bait all day and it's still in pretty good shape!

Thanks, Jerdon and thanks Ken!

It pays to be at the right place at the right time. Too bad you can never know beforehand when and where that is!
