Saltwater VS Freshwater is it time

The point has always been to involve all from any where. We have had people compete from outside California in the past. I think we need to work on including Canadan.

OK guys I would still like to get this going, I like the idea of using the fish chart we used for the big Tournaments we use to do. This list would have 5 to 6 fish for Saltwater and Freshwater fish and points for each fish. This would allow us to encourage others to get in on the action.

As normal we would need a Captain for each team. This would just be a person to serve as the contact point as well as the one that does all communication with your teammates. I will list the fish lists later this week I just need to find the most recent list we used.

Still no date just want to iron out the details and when we feel we got it dialed in lets roll out a date.

OK guys there is a list of fish you can fish for for each group points attached. I think we eliminate the minimum length as this is just which team catches the most. I still would like to talk this all out but I think its time we set a date for the event as well.

Catfish 25 Points
Trout 20 Points
Muskie 20 Points

Saltwater Fish List

Spottied Bass 20 Points
Calico Bass 20 Points

Halibut 25 Points
Crocker 20 Points
Sculpin 20 Points

I like it. I am team saltwater all day. Lets get this thing rolling.

What are the rules and how does it work again. It’s been awhile.

Sorry everyone this is on me can we set a date let's say game day September 5th. 1st to the 5th will be open for team members to fish one day and submit there catches. We can say all has to be in to be counted by midnight of the 5th.
Each member will choose a day to fish and con only fish that day. What does everyone think.

First of all, I would like to apologize for re-stirring this pot!

BUT ... I’ve been thinking about this FW vs SW tournament a bit lately and here are some of my gathered thoughts:

SIZE AND SPECIES DOES NOT MATTER!

Any fish (w/ gills & water breathing) landed and properly shown in a photograph will count as one point.
The Team with the most fish landed in the time frame (6, 8 or 12 hour window) allotted ... WINS!

Everybody must fish on the same day, keep it simple.
Everybody must fish during the same exact (6, 8 or 12 hour) window allotted (times adjusted in each specific time zone), keep it simple.
Everybody must clearly show the Event date and or code in each fish photo, keep it simple.
The most fish landed by the team ... WINS! SIMPLE!

This way, both teams have an equal chance to win.
No bonus points. Just clean and simple.
CAN THIS WORK FOR BOTH TEAMS?

This is the type of Event where the Team’s fish “numbers” WIN and not the individuals. Thus, the Team WINS!

My 2-cents, perhaps this is something to be considered in the future for another event. Hmmmm! 🧐

I think this works post up all you catch no hold bar right. What do you all think.

This can be a one day event for everybody and it could be held easily a couple of times a year.

Just don’t change the rules and keep it simple.

Jeff, are you able to show us list of the Entrant names and their SW/FW teams yet?
I was just being curious.

Jeff, could you considered making this a smaller-number-of-entrants event, this time?
Or is there a particular minimum number of entrants needed to get this event started?

Perhaps if you go ahead and proceed with this event ... that perhaps a few more people will want to get into it the next time around. Hmmm.

You’ve got a few guys that are chomping on-the-bit to get out there and fish against one another right now!

I’m just thinking that you’ve got to do something soon before the interest is lost.

This year with the Pandemic makes it really hard to commit to a time frame, for me and many others. I agree with Dan we need to put up a time slot and let it rip.

OK I will be posting the rules for this Freshwater vs Saltwater event this weekend. I like Dan's Idea and after this we will do this for sure. We added a list of fish and points but as Dan said lets keep it simple. So the list is gone any fish caught is a point. This will be a free for all, the most fish caught wins. Because of COVID this one will have a week long event but you can only fish one day. and there will be codes set up for each day so we know those fishing on specific days can only have that code for that day.

We have a small list started we need at least 5 to make this happen on each team. The winning team wins a digital banner they can fly on there threads as well as bragging rights. GT is in and I know we have a few others we will list that all soon. If you are interested post up and let us know are you fishing for Fresh or Saltwater. Anyone anywhere can compete.
