5/18/22 Week 3 Barrett Lake Top Water bonanza

Week 3
Arrived in pole position
Made long 45 min run in the Scadden detonator to end of one of the arms in the dark.
Extended overcast conditions, pockets of shad popping up at dawn.
Solid hour of excellent topwater on small popper, buzzbait but especially on the duck looking crawler cast right on shore or right next to submerged trees.  
Ended with 18 on topwater

Rest of the day was consistent on small underspin, willow vibe, Shakey head plastics.
Ended with 62
Long drive home in traffic
Phone unable to recognize my thumb print due to bass thumb...priceless

I love that your phone could not recognize your thumb print, that says it all. Man I now think this destination has been added to my bucket list. Great work and again thanks for sharing with us.

Nice report! How early did you get there to be first in line ?

It’s 140 mikes from my house in Torrance one way and they have been opening gate 4-430 so either leave at 2 and not sleep any way or get there early.

I put a foam mattress in my truck, got there at midnight and got solid 4 hours of sleep

Last year fished for 2 days sat/sun and stayed at an Airbnb down there.
Some guys have stayed at casino down there as well- little gambling and buffet w fishing

Only the first month it gets crazy. Should be less crowded .
