Laguna Niguel Lake 11/19/11

I was thinking about going to Laguna Niguel, they just stocked on tuesday, may be a little crowded but the fishing will be off the hoooook. If anyone wants to go, let me know.

Well if the fish are going to be off the hook i dont want to go ,I want them on the hook lol

lol like i said i am busy with the kids and i will love to go fishing i have been in 2 weeks going on 3 and i am getting and have withdraws lol

it is called the fishing DT's very life threating might have to get out there before you get to sick.

Just got back from their yesterday and got 3 really big trout even though I didn't hit the water until 11:00 and only fished until 4:30. Got all 3 on lures 2 on med super duper and 1 on a red / black spinner. Fish like the shallow area by the bouy next to the middle island. Lots of people where leaving as I launched because they already got their limit. The largest caught was just over 8lbs. I will definitely be back the next time they stock.

Sounds like a good time Lght, I just picked up some trout rods and some tackle. Now it's time to fish....

Well I guess I fished the wrong stuff today. Two small bass and that was it! Met the owner Darren and he gave me some good tips on flys to use. Would be sweet to hold an event here!

I was there Friday, left around 2 or so 'cause I was fighting off a cold...I arrived late partly for the same reason.

Early on olive matuka worked for me, then I midged for a slow but relatively consistent day...try dark in the morning, then Olive or green in the afternoon, but you know it changes daily.

I lost more than I landed but I think I landed 8. One of the ones I lost was easily 20+ inches, the ones I landed ranged from 16-19 inches with most of them on the larger side.

There seemed to be two kinds of fish, one with very bright colors and decent fins, and one more like silversides...and they seemed to be jumpers

I was using 4# when I lost the "big" one.

I bumped up to 6# test.

It's more the leader diameter you need to pay attention to.

Use the smallest you can find. I use Seaguar 6.2# test as my standard for acceptable diameter...I go lighter when I'm going cheap, I go heavier when I am feeling I need the extra # test but the diameter is always the same or smaller.
