For the bays I've been fishing heavier line...10-12 fluro just because ive been working around some nasty structure lately. I swear by 6 pound mono though....p-line or ande....clear.

However last time I took my nephew trout fishing the guy next to me (4 BIG fish on his stringer) was using 20 lb mono and deep sea fishing gear and told me expensive line only catches fisherman not fish. It was hard to argue with him after looking at his stringer Shocked

Power Pro braid, loaded with Berkley flouro leader. Braid is great for the sensitivity, but sucks when it comes to stay hidden from fishes. 24" to 48" flouro leaders nail them, while still giving that 95% sensitivity on all nibbles and bites. Love it when it comes to small fishes. Very nice hi-vis, and last a hell long time over mono.

Flouro is way too rigid for the spools. Mono is too stretchy, even with Spider mono. How about the Yo-Zuri Hybrid? Flexible, yet translucent. Expensive..

Ive used pline fer years n picked up some 20 lb maxima ultra green fer the swimbaits n have to say I love this line. Changin all the reels over from 2 to 20 lb maxima.

Completely depends on the combo I am using and the target fish. Since most of the conversation is about salt water harbor fishing here is what I do.

In the harbors I fish 4 and 6# Vanish fluro top shots on Izor braid and Triple X in smoke.

For big swim baits, cranks and spinners and jerk baits I use the Triple X in various sizes. The stretch is useful.

I have the new Trilene 12lb pro series line,
It is kinda pricey but worth not losing a fish!
