Launched at 6:00am with John, Alfredo and my brother and worked the marina hard. Lots of life, Alfredo and my bro got towed by 50lb+ bat rays. Caught a mix of sand bastards, rockies, huge lizards, couple short butts and a nice leagal that John caught. Sure beats work anyday of the week. Twisted Evil

wtf!

Jay: It was a 3" swimmy with 1/2oz lead. I don't think I have ever gone that fast on my tube before. It was a fun sleigh ride while it lasted.

Batrays eat swimbaits. These things were not winged hooked, they took the bait and flew!!! The one by brother hooked fought just like a freaking hali, solid weight up and down battle with head shakes and it was a huge batray! Mad

Good work Wiseguy!
nice mix, fish seem to be getting smaller as the days go by, spawn over is my guess, settling into the summer population. lower tide differentials, longer tidal intervals, warmer water, fewer transcient fish. Ah well. I noticed the dislocated eye on your first pix. a problem I have always hated about the wide gap long shank hooks used with leads. In think that shorter shank hooks with a narrower gap could prevent this. Or short shank wide gap, barbless circle type hooks. Something for the lure makers to experiment with?
