Noob with a Tube

I just recently bought a caddis wyoming float tube. I haven't used it yet. I googled float tube info and this site came up. I noticed most of the people are in CA. Funny enough I'm from San Diego and now I live in NC. I had a float tube when I lived in SD but I hardly used it. I fished a small lake outside of Vista and I think Poway Lake once. I would have liked to have a kayak but I have no place to store it. Strangely enough my main concern with the float tube is snapping turtles. I've heard of them nipping duck fins. I'm wondering if they'd nip swim fins too. Some of the turtles here are monstrous close to 100lbs.

Since I've moved to NC about 6yrs ago now I've taken up fly fishing. I mostly wade fish but I'm excited to see what I can do with a float tube.

Welcome StCroixFan glad you found us, and post some pictures of the snapping turtles. Oh ya and the fish you catch as well, again welcome and glad you found us.

Welcome Jeff...about them snapping turtles..I think the odds are better that a plane would crash on your tube than a turtle biting you...just sayin...I wouldn't want to step on ones head or anything to provoke a bite...but turtles have a great tendancy to flee from
you rather than come at you. If you get one on your line by fishing live bait, just cut the line...unless you want to clean it and eat it. They are delicious by the way, but it's a bloody nightmare to clean one! (Only did it once in my life...never again)
