Scent for the salt

ok so iv hear of Pro cure and Uni Butter but what else have you guys tried and where can some one go buy it from.

Ive been told hot sauce works good too,i actually use a fresh water crawfish scent in both fresh and salt water!u can buy them direct from the website,Just click On the icon On the bottom left of the page![quote]

Hot Sauce is the only one you need. You can pick it up at local tackle store.

I've used both hot sauce and uni-butter. Although I prefer hot sauce, they both work really well. As a matter of fact, the only reason I use hot sauce over uni-butter is because the tackle shop I go to always seems to have a few extra bottles of hot sauce when everything else is sold out.

I think presentation catches the fish, not what it smells like,..

I agree.. But it still helps well at least Bill Dance says so

i only use ever once and a while if its slow or i am bored but uni butter and hot sauce seems to work pretty good

I don't look at scents as a way to attract fish I think scents work as a flavor enhancer to get fish to hang on to a lure just a bit longer to give a little more time to set the hook. Or if you do miss a fish the scent/flavor will get it to hit your lure again for a second chance.

But they do work I've had bites turn on and off to certain scents or make a bad day turn into a good day of fishing... especially with trout.

For you guys who like to use uni butter, enjoy it now well you can cause rumors are that come next year uni butter will be no more

oh better stock up on it but it last forever anyways lol

Hot sauce is a great scent, it will last much longer than others...

i haven't tried any kinda scent but im planning on buying a bottle of hotsauce. heard it works really well and last longer then uni butter.

X2 i tried uni and it seems to come off right after the first cast,i might try the hot sauce or mabe Just stick to my crawfish scent...

Never had that problem with Uni Butter. I rub it in the bait pretty good. On some baits, I'll put some butter and a bait in a zip lok baggie and let it sit for a few dayz.

Where are these rumors re: Uni Butter going out of biz..?

I can not release the info on where I got from. They not going out of biz, he's just shutting the production. Here is clue, why do you think Evan jump ship and is now with hot sauce beside its a better product.

Mega Strike is probibly my number one, Hot Sauce is good but not as easy to use...

FWIW, imho, being the "best" is subjective. Unless you have scientific data showing that one brand consistently catches more fish in a given time frame, not one of these scents can claim to be the "best". I have used just about every scent made, except Hot Sauce. When I run out of Uni Butter, I'll give it a try.

Old blender:

Squid
Chovy
Mussel
Crab
Glycerin

Blend on high

Strain through cheese cloth

Bottle it up

Mmmmmmmmmmm goooooood.

Freeze what you don't use.


You can also bust open omega 3 capsule on your bait. Nothing but goodies from the sea.

Only problem with this stuff is that you don't get a fancy baseball cap.

uuugh is that your morning power shake you drink before you fish!? add in a little powerbait and wheat grass for good measure!

I figure any bait/scent company claiming they are the best in the business is pretty much moot just like all the resteraunts that claim world's famous and worlds best ribs, burger, steaks ect ect... worlds best according to who?
