I just bought some medium size hot spot fins and I was planing to get some neoprene shoes to go over my waders but I couldn't find any shoes that would fit over my waders .. I tried the fins with my waders and they fit fine but has a lil bit of play in the toe area my question is .. Is it okay to have a lil play in the fins or is it better to have a nice snug fit without any movement

I had some fins that seemed to fit nice and snug, at first. About an hour or two into a day my feet would begin to ache on the bone on the side of my foot. It would become intolerable, so much so that I would have to take the fins off and rest my feet a while. That is when I learned that you go nowhere without fins.

I said all that to say this; loose is probably not a bad thing. If they are too loose a thick pair of socks under your stocking foot waders may take up the slack.

You can still get the job done like that. My hot spot fins fit me exactly how you described. Try the kayak store by belmont pier (next door to chronic tacos) they have the shoes that you are looking for and for cheap! I was able to fish for a long time with just waders and fins but the booties make it soooooooo much better. Specially since you don't have to worry about ripping your waders walking to and from the water when you are wearing booties.

The guy that runs that store is a really cool guy. I was going to buy some $80 shoes from his store and he recommended some other shoes that were like twenty something bucks!

You can also take your waders and fins with you and try them on with the shoes inside the store!
