Just wondering if anyone else pours their own jig heads? I was wondering what type of lead u guys use and how u paint the heads.

Also what type of jig heads do u pour, shakey heads, swim bait jig heads, arkey style, football heads?

What hooks do u use and just basicaly share info.


I'm looking into getting a few new molds so maybe some one has one to check out. Thumbs Up

I pour 1 oz. bullet heads i dont have anything small but i was going to go to hilt mold and get some different molds there about 40 bucks Very Happy

I use Do-It molds. Get them cheap off eBay.

Is hilts near by? Might try them if they are local.

Those are nice i might be interrested in those

also i bring you some of the ones i have see if those will work i use them for sculpin

Don't forget the slip shot, torpedo and banker weights you make. They git 'er done too!

funny store we got a bunch of tools in one day and there was a 100 lbs plate in the bunch it sat for a year or 2 and when i deside to pour i remembered that we had that plate so i havent bought any lead yet .got about 50lbs left lol Thumbs Up

I would only like to add one thing for my jigheads and that is they would have to be shiny, eyes, I don't care about, but shiny lead, is a must.

there are a ton of tire shops around me maybe i will hit them up for some lead Thumbs Up great ideal there SHB Twisted Evil

Come to think about it my spyder jig was real balanced lol
(get it tire shop lead use for balancing lol)

E-Bay is also a good source for good lead. I had a friend that bought lead from an e-bay seller and the guy packed 20 lbs. of lead in a Priority Mail envelope so the shipping cost was under $4.

Hey Ed ill go in on some lead with u if u find a suplier( aka tire shop). Less than a dollar a pound is ok, .50$ or so is good.
