Hey guys it's been a few weeks since I've posted any reports but fishing has been great although yesterday it seems to have slowed down a little for us. Both the air and water temp have cooled down a bit and you can really feel the transition from summer to fall. Not to mention the lake was recently closed because of a blue green algae bloom and they did whatever they did to treat it. They say that shouldn't affect the fishing at all but everytime a lake is treated or there is a bloom I notice a significant decrease in action. I could be wrong though.
We launch at 1:30AM and hit our usual spots on the mainlake and found a few scattered fish up on the banks(2-3lb range). We headed over to our frog spot at about 5AM and I had about 8 blowups on the frog but wasn't able to get a good hookset although my friend land a 4.2lb fish. Top water window was over in about 1.5 hours so we moved spots and didn't get another bite for about 3 hours. Moved over to east bay and figured out the fish were literally glued underneath the docks and would not come out so we changed our approach a little on how we were presenting our plastics. The Fat IKA was my big producer yesterday(watermelon/red flake). The other fish were caught on the ned rig and finesse worms. So finally by the end of the day we kind of had the fish figured out and started to pull them in. Nothing super big but always tons of fun. My biggest was 3.5lbs. We got out at 5PM Saturday completely exhausted but happy we were able to get some fish. Just an easy 18 hours of fishing Lol.
