A solo session today in LAH.

I always start my session with a quite moment giving thanks, allowing myself to calm and to connect with Him.

Gray light: 0600 hrs
Miles Kicked On FT: 0.8 miles
Calories Burnt: Approx 391 if we had been walking so I'm going to guess approx 500+ calories burnt today.
Swell: NW
Air Temp: 67 deg  cloudy mild sky's w/ a marine layer that didn't begin to burn off until 1000 hrs.
Water Temp: 68 deg
Session Duration: 0600 hrs until 0845 hrs (2 hrs 45 min).
Sun Rise: 0629 Hrs, Sun Set: 1913 hrs. The days are definitely getting shorter!
Wind: 0600 hrs 6 mph SW, 1200 hrs 6 mph SW.
CE: 60 in the morning, average
Bait Presence: massive amounts of 1-3" bait and bait balls in the water everywhere.
Sea Dog Presence: 6
Sea Bird Presence: just a few diving pelagic birds and pelican's
Dolphin Presence: none to report.
Surf: 1-2 ft, Swell: 1.4 ft, Sec's Between Sets: 10
Large Leaf Kelp Beds: Are shrinking since the warmer waters and they have once again dying back and are beginning to disappear for the season.
Tidal Conditions: 0500 hrs 2.5 ft, 0600 hrs 3.2 ft, 0700 hrs 3.6 ft, 0742 HT 3.7 ft, 0900 hrs 3.5 ft, 1000 hrs 3.1 ft, 1100 hrs 2.6 ft ... etc.
Isolunar: Major period from 0735 hrs until 1035 hrs.<"))>< <"))><
Evil or Very Mad  I didn't land a fish for the entire 1st hour!
Bait used: 3/8 oz Sardine Green Silver and 3/8 oz Mint, 1/4 oz Sardine Green Silver colored HUB's with Bio-Edge, Pro-Cure and Hot Sauce scents.

Equipment used: for fishing in LAH today,
My rod selections were my St Croix BassX and my St Croix AvidX, both are rated 6-12#, 6'-8", 1-pc.
On both of my Shimano Stradic Ci4 2500 reels, I used Diawa Samurai #30 braid (8 carrier) line w/ a 5 ft long 15 lb Seaguar InvizX Fluorocarbon leader while using the RP knot in order to connect (tie) the fluorocarbon and braid together and the Improved Cinch knot for tying-on the bait.

My 3rd rod selection was my B"n"M SharpShooter, rated 4#-8#, 6'-6", 1-pc.
On my Shimano Stradic Ci4 2500 reel, I used Diawa Samurai #30 braid (8 carrier) line w/ a 5 ft long 15 lb Seaguar InvizX Fluorocarbon leader while using the RP knot in order to connect (tie) the fluorocarbon and braid together and the Improved Cinch knot for tying-on the bait.

SP Dan's Fish Count: 14 fish total and 4 different species landed while fishing on the "SS Stitch":

(1) legal Spotty's, 14"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(9) short Sandy's, best 13"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(1) Rock Fish 6"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(3) Greenback Mackerel, best 11"

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Note: I only post one of each species unless there are multi legals, PB's or NS (new species).
PS ... I am a 100% catch and release sportsman.
I also only show photo's of the fish (no video's, no music and selfies) because it's all about the fish ... and it's not about me folk's.   Thumbs Up

Thank you everyone for taking the time to view my posting!

Sounds like a great session. Question, how do you keep track of EVERYTHING? Shocked ...I have a hard time remembering to eat sometimes while on the water! LOL

I can't remember what I had eaten yesterday neither! Ha ha ha Smile

I was trained to do this while in the Marines as a Recon/Sniper.

It's thru the same discipline today that I continue to write it all down in my journal, I began this particular journal back on 6-4-11. Oh ... and the different colors represent an entire year or fishing season.

I also track my PB's on a different page in the journal by species and the year.

This is how my mind works! lol  Cool

Great report! Its always good to get out on the water, no matter the session length.

Hey TobyB,

I agree with you on about 33.3% of the time sir!
I have to admit .... that 66.6% of the time I actually prefer the much longer sessions. Very Happy
A short session to me is 3-4 hours.

I find that my particular level of OCSD requires 5-12 hours of fishing for the complete therapeutic window to occur (getting my fix  Very Happy  Ha ha ha!) which allows for my complete decompression! lol

LOng session or short its nice to be out fishing, but the short sessions can frustrate me LOL but time on the water is what matters right.

Another fun session Dan. I can attest to Dan's attention to detail with anything. I've actually seen the notebook!!! Shocked He uses a mechanical pencil to write the letters at that size

I'm looking forward to it, my confidence is increasing after my third trip to SARL. Waiting for my water-resistant spinning reel and potentially going to buy a Cumberland. Been doing more research and it looks like hella fun
