Sunday 9-9-2018

I met up with Enoc for a short while today. It was really nice to have hooked-up with you today before we ended-up going our own ways in search of our own PB's! lol
  Thumbs Up

FYI ... at the beginning of each of my sessions I try to take a moment for calming thoughts and to consciously remind myself of how truly BLESSED I am!

Gray light: 0600 hrs
Miles Kicked On FT: 1.91 miles
Calories Burnt: Approx 701 if we had been walking so I'm going to guess approx 800+ calories burnt today.
Swell: SSW
Air Temp: 66 deg to 80 deg, cloudy mild sky's w/ a marine layer that didn't begin to burn off until 0830 hrs.
Water Temp: 68 deg
Session Duration: 0500 hrs until 1200 hrs (7 hrs).
Sun Rise: 0631 Hrs, Sun Set: 1907 hrs.
Wind: 0600 hrs 3-mph S, 1200 hrs 5-mph SW.
CE: 100 in the morning, a high average
Bait Presence: massive amounts of 1-3" shiner bait in the water everywhere.
Sea Dog Presence: none to report
Sea Bird Presence: just a few diving birds
Dolphin Presence: none to report.
Surf: 2-3 ft, Swell: 1.9 ft, Sec's Between Sets: 11
Large Leaf Kelp Beds: none to report
Tidal Conditions: 0500 hrs -0.3 ft, 0600 hrs 0.80 ft, 0700 hrs 2.2 ft, 0800 hrs 3.7 ft, 0900 hrs 4.6 ft, 1000 HT 4.9 ft, 1100 hrs 4.6 ft, 1200 hrs 3.6 ft ... etc.
Isolunar: Minor period from 0535 hrs until 0705 hrs.  <"))>< <"))>< <"))>< <"))><
Note: No fish were landed by SP Dan in the 1st 1 1/2 hours and no fish were landed again in the last 1 1/2 hours of this session. So the bite actually occurred between 0630 hrs and 1030 hrs (a 4 hr window) for SP Dan and the fish really needed to be hunted-down in the entire bay area.
Bait used: 3/8 oz Sardine Green Silver, 1/4 oz Sardine Green Silver and a 1/4 oz Mint colored HUB's with Bio-Edge scent along with Hot Sauce and a Drop Shot rig.

Equipment used: for fishing in LAB today,
My (3) three rods selected: were my  B"n"M SharpShooter's, rated 4#-8#, 6', 1-pc.

My (3) reels selected: were (2) two of my Shimano Stradic Ci4 2500 reels and (1) one Diawa Balistic 2500 reel, all spooled with Diawa Samurai #30 braid (8 carrier) line w/ a 5 ft long 12 lb Seaguar InvizX Fluorocarbon leader while using the RP knot to connect (tie) the fluorocarbon and braid together and the Improved Cinch knot for tying-on the bait.

SP Dan's Fish Count: 26 fish total, 2-different species and 1 legal Bass while fishing on "SS Stitch":

(22) Spotty's, the best was a 14" legal
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

(4) short Sandy's, best was 8"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Note: I only post one of each species unless there are multi legals, PB's or NS (new species).
PS ... I am a sportsman dedicated to being a 100% CPR (catch, photograph and release) angler.
Also,  I only show photo's of the fish and not of myself because it's really all about the fish?!  Cool

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to view my posting!

Another nice day on the water. Meeting people and catching fish. That little sandy in the pic was feeling tough grabbing that HUB.

Thanks for sharing

Thank you Jerdon,

Yes they all seem to be; for the most part, a bit aggressive when it comes to attacking the HUB.
And that's also why I fish with a full spool of braid and a 5' leader ... it's super sensitive to those lil' line taps whether in 15' of water or 70' of water.
Braid dosen't stretch so I don't need to set the hook, the fish will set the hook themselves when they turn their heads to run with their latest catch (my HUB). Cool lol
