Just got my first tube, rigged and ready for some warmer water. Can I take it where kayaks are prohibited? How about a lake or pond which is unmarked or prohibits swimming specifically?

In Maryland I'm referring to places like Rainbow Lake, Hamburg Lake, Middletown Reservoir, etc.

Welcome to the forum frederickfishingfan.

I can't answer for Maryland, but out here where no swimming is allowed neither are the floattubes.

Welcome frederickfishingfan to the forum so glad you found us. I echo what Jerdon says, it is always a good idea to call the local boat rental's on the lakes or local tackle shops to the area's you are looking to fish. Then you can always just get in and if someone says you cannot tube here now you know. (But I don't suggest that lol! )

Unfortunately my favorite trout pond (Walden Pond in Concord, MA) allows swimming but inflatables (including tubes) are forbidden. What would Thoreau think?

Welcome aboard the forum frederickfishingfan.
There always seems to be an obstacle that wants to halt us from float to fishing, in certain areas!

I say, follow the rules and have a great time FT fishing in your local waters, after the thaw of course. lol

I'm looking forward to your "soft water" fish reports!  Thumbs Up
