Dropped my gf off at work so i headed to the J street marina yet again. I was kinda bummed that she didnt drive herself to work cause I had to leave the water earlier than planned to pick her up.
Either way...any time on the water cant be beat so Im not complaining.
Caught around 8-9 spotties today...once again all smaller models. Not one fish was caught near a dock or piling. All were caught in the "mouths" of the docks....the areas leading into the docks. That doesnt makr much sense but i dont know how else to describe it. All fish were caught on T&C swimgrubs with hot sauce on 1/4oz of lead. A lot of my fish today (and recently) have been caught while trolling. When moving from point A to point B instead of bringing my line in and kicking over, ill make a short cast and let a bunch of line out. Then ill drift or slowly kick to my next destination, occasionally working the bait with a quick raise of the rod tip. If your lure isnt in the water your not gonna catch fish, so even if going against the current I do this and it has provided me with a lot of fish.
Sorry this isnt as detailed as part reports...ill save the detail for when i catch a bigger fish again. I need to get on some bigger spotties...and quick.
Also i saw two other float tubers leaving as i just got started. I dont see too many tubers in this area...wonder if they were members here.
