I get to the lake about 6:30am and the line was as long as when I have gotten there at 3:00am. Phisin phool shows up about fifteen minutes later. We get on the water about 7:30-7:45 and work around the dam. Water at 51^ and windy. No love there so we work our way around the lake. I hook into what was probably a sturgeon and after a half an hour I just break him off. I have spent more then an hour before on this type of bite and had it break and there were trout to catch. PhisinPhool hooks into a nice trout and as I am kicking over to him the trout is running past me, I am 35-50 yards away from PhPh, I could have reached out and netted the fish. He finally turns the fish around and lands it, looked five pounds. I have no luck for about an hour so I light up a cigar and change colors. BAM fish on, and for the next hour and a half I catch fish. But I also get a lesson watching Kirkboat and his friend land fish after fish after fish. It is a pleasure watching someone who knows the lake and has the technique down, thanks for letting me watch the master at work. Then PhPh shows me how to land an eight pounder on light tackle, shallow water, and trees all around him. It was a ballet watching PhPh control the fish and the tube.

I finally get my limit and start the long kick back to the launch ramp. The fish were all great fights, get them close to the tube and they would peel off line and give me an acrobatic show.
A lot of people on the water and fairly slow but those that did catch fish were all good size at the cleaning station.

Quality fish and great two days on the water. Nice way to end out 2011 and look forwarded to 2012 and more great fishing and meeting new people on the water.
