First day of Spring Break had to get out on the water! Launched from lots 11 and 12 at 8:45 went straight across to follow the crowd of boats and made my first cast at about 9:15. Hit all the east shoreline and some of the south before making the long kick back which took a little over an hour Started with a jig and chigger craw for nothing at all then switched to drop shot for the rest of the day. Ended up with 3 on the DS but the fish didn't seem to want to commit as I had numerous short strikes usually one per cast but couldn't get most to take it. Saw some catch a few as well and saw others leave empty handed. On a side note the panfish bite was wide open today as I saw guys landing them every 10 seconds it seemed like on red worms.
When I beached for the day back at launch 2 I talked to a guy who showed me a perfectly colored 8 lber on a stringer that was caught fishing live minnows nose hooked... wasn't sure what to say or think as I am unfamiliar with live bait regulations. Said they were gonna release the fish after getting an official weight at the marina but there didn't seem to be much life in it.
Til next time tight lines!
Here's the big one for the day...
