Wes and I did a little recon mission this morning.

Sadly I landed only one fish on the morning. I was checking out a pattern and I felt a little tug on the drop, I thumbed it to be certain and felt a light pressure so I jerked back and thought I had snagged a weed. WRONG!!
Wes got a shot of the preliminary battle

I know the meaning of BENDO now.
She took two big headshaking nasty jumps and made me tighten up my drag. Then she made a run through the weeds. My knot was good and the line held up.

24 inches 4.7 pounds!
I'll be marking this one as a PB

Nice one Thumbs Up  Got anymore pics?

Were the weeds getting pretty thick out there? The water has dropped 2 feet since I've been to the island 2 weeks ago. Theres gotta be a lot of stuff floating out there now.

Yes the weeds are thick at 8 feet and less, scattered to about 14 feet deep. The lake has dropped in the last two weeks fairly steady, water temp was 77. I have not been further east than lot 8 in two months.

Hope this helps.

the move off sailcove towards the beach side , maybe in the works , fishing the buoy line on that grass maybe key , it should be sitting around 15-17' I think it will be the ticket ... I will be off Wednesday and Saturday next week , but i am down for afternoon sessions . need to get on a few more patterns Thumbs Up

I was expecting more, but she was pretty thin through the middle. I checked my scale when I got home.

Agreed Komori and I was 10ft from the fish she was long and thin ... during the spawn easy 8lb bass

Considering mine last yr during the salt vs freshwater was alittle over 23" and 7.2 .. Either way she was a nice Fish
