Perris 7/2/14

Had a pretty good morning at Perris.  After coming up with a game plan based on my last 2 trips I took some light gear with me.

Only took about an hour to beat the skunk with this:

Then things got real slow for a few hours and I was working my way back to Bernasconi when I got slammed.  This guy was taking line and putting up a real healthy fight.  I was super excited but my scale was out of batteries so no weight:

After pics and about 20 min of fishing I decided to kick my way back to the launch point.  And so came the HR in the bottom of the 9th.  Slammed again, about 10 yards from the launch:

Thanks Jerry for the pics and for going on the trip.  Hopefully we are still on for next Wednesday.

Awesome job on the bass , I heard you both had a good day fishing out there . nice job . I am glad the June funk is gone and July is here and perris will be on fire as the bass are almost transitioned to there summer holding spots and chasing bait    , Will check it out tomorrow and report back

Nice catching bud. Yeah, I use light and very light tackle and with 4 lb test you can add so much more action to your baits. I'll be float tubing out there with several guys, and I'll get more strikes and fish than those guys using heavier conventional outfits because of the very light line. Of course, it takes forever to land a 4 lb Largemouth on 2 or 4 lb test line!
