The title says it all. I braved the elements today at lake Perris. I had a 3 hour window. 6am till 9am. I head to the front side of the Island and have a fish smash my buzzbait on the second cast. The wind was brutal 2-3 foot chop on the water. I head to the area where I got my fish a few days ago and make a long cast tight to the shoreline cover. I get a small backlash so as im pulling it free the buzzbait sinks to the bottom. I begin reeling as fast as I can to get it back up to the surface when I notice a huge wake forming behind my lure and the moment the blades start turning on the surface an explosion of epic proportions ensues. Bass missed the bait but it does a 180 and sprays water everywhere again trying to get that bait but it misses again. I just pick up my jaw off the ground and shake my head. A few years back I landed a 9.10oz beast on a frog at Skinner and the amount of water this fish I saw displaced was over twice as much. I got a glimpse of it wide green back and this fish was enormous. Next time maybe we will get the hooks in her
