I am thinking of buying a pontoon boat. Wonder if I can get recommendations from the forum from people that own pontoon boats. Just starting to investigate.
Thanks for any advice you can give.

I owned one for awhile. I really did not use it. I found I always went back to a float tube. Just set up time is so much easier with a float tube. Also if you are going to use it in the ocean a lot of the pontoon boats out there have a steel frame that will rust out on you very quickly. The boat I owned was very nice it was made by the creek company and I did enjoy it when I took it out. If I wanted to go down that path again I would look at the frameless pontoons. I really like them. Looks about as hard to setup as a float tube but with oars.

Singletrack nailed it, pontoons have there place but at a lot of work. Framless is a good idea, don't miss Seven Bass they have some unique boats that might serve your needs.

So...I am reading into this that a float tube might be a better choice. Any suggestions on best float tubes to consider?

I personally love outcast. I have had great luck with them. The Cumberland that a lot of guys have including my self I have found they don't hold up. I have a bunch of problems with mine in the one year I have owned it. I have owned a outcast fish cat for 7 years with only two minor problems and they were covered under warranty.

I am opposite the Cumberland has been great for me, I started with the ODC 420 and it was ok but I was never really as happy as I was with the Cumberland. I have not heard much bad about the Fis Cats, but I feel the Cumberland is a great product.
We do get as members a 15% discount on all Classic Accessories Products float tubes and pontoon boats, just so you know. If you would like to know more about this just as.

I did not know we got a discount. The Cumberland is nice. I just have had a bad experience. With a discount could be a great first buy.
