Date  - Fishing Time: 10/27/18 – 6:30 am – 11:30 am
Location / Launch Location: Huntington Harbor, Seabridge Park

Total Fish Caught: 5, 3 Spotted Bay Bass – 2 Sand Bass
Bait Used (No of fish): HUB – Green Sardine (4), HUB – Red Crab (1)

Got here early and met up with JPlee, Logan, JeffCpr, Jeff’s Daughter and Ornery Bob from the forums. An incredible outing with new people to share it with. The excitement of the meetup far outweighed any disappointment with the fish activity.

Brand new water for me, absolutely loved the location. Tried using tube baits and Dark Sleeper swim baits but ended up only catching on HUBs. Location was fabulous we arrived with a spooky mist all around us and that drive in where there is construction and you share a single lane is crazy eerie as well. Being that it is a full moon and so close to Halloween, I fully expected to be eaten that morning.

Goals - My goal was to try to use not only the new baits but to also learn about “skipping” docks as in casting at an angle to get under structure. More practice needed on this as I found I was normally a bit short on the cast but feel I can get a handle on it with a spinning reel with more time.

Thoughts
- I am not entirely convinced that times matter when fishing these docks, I do not notice any additional bites or feel like there is a time I missed when getting to the launch locations before sunrise or after. I will assume that with more time spent I will change this thought but for now, another goes into the “further analysis needed” column.

I think this is where we turned around?

Great report bro yep that was spooky fog out there. I like your section on goals we should all have goal each time out. Those goals should not simply be PB's but more leanred skills you got me thinking now. Great to fish with you and nice to meet you as well.

Well you did get some fish and you had a good time. So you can certainly claim success.
I have seen videos of people skipping baits under docks with their baitcasters. I have no idea how much practice that takes. This summer I took my grandson fishing from a dock. I used his spincaster and skipped a few under there docks. The spincaster makes it stupid easy to accomplish bouncing the baits compared to the spinning reel.
