quick report, 8 bass and 1 sculpin and took 2 spines from sculpin. got me good, big boy and he spit hook out of water and flip up on apron and the battle was on. 2 to 3 hours of pain, lots of swelling. fun fun fun, maybe ill post a pic of my clown hand later, its impressive

Hot water,hot coffee, anything really hot really helps . S**t happens, try and be safe but when he spit the hook and started bouncing on the apron. He was either in my lap or try and push him off the front.

OUCH!!!
People don't quite understand the severe deep burning pain that doesn't let up, when we are talking about taking a poisonous HIT from the RATTLESNAKE FISH!!
I DO!

Two weeks in a roll.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... 3 deep and 2 shallow thorn hits in the thumb muscle ... 3-4 hours of severe pain .... and then it just went away.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... 1 thorn underneath thumb nail ... 3 days of deep muscle tissue throbbing pain.
I wanted to cut off my hand it hurt so terribly! I'm serious!
I couldn't sleep! .... and then it just went away.

I'm sure that you are feeling fine and dandy now! Thumbs Up

I never lift my thorn's out of the water by hook n' line but rather by Boga-Grip.

Sculpin have been known to have ruined a few of my fishing sessions in the not so distant past.

the pain was pretty good for 1/2 hour, then i started catching a few fish, pain was less, at 1 hour pain doubled and for next 2 hours the pain was severe. soaking in really hot water helped. neighbor who is a doctor told me to soak in hot salt water with a little hibiclens antibacterial. hand is still swollen up and i cant close it. fun fun fun

That is the worst reaction that I have seen!
I was only a little swollen while it was stinging.
